CLOCHE PARTY and PINK SATURDAY 12/05/09

Today is the much anticipated CLOCHE PARTY presented by the hostess with the mostess, Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. I'm a tad late getting my post linked up and mid-way thru it realized how much PINK I was sharing today, so I'm going to let this post do double duty as my PINK SATURDAY post, too!

Enjoy all the pics (most are clickable to enlarge) and please stop back by again Tuesday, as I'll be participating again in Susan's Deck The Halls Tuesday! with more of my holiday decor!

I just love my little Lefton reindeer with all their sparkly rhinestones

Precious Moments Christmas Angel bell from my sweet Mother

Found this teensy glittered church at Wal-Mart!

Some of my favorite snow bunnies!

1980's Hallmark Cloth Santa that hubby and I have decorated with each year. I recently bought another to gift our granddaughter with. That way, we'll BOTH have one! The little porcelain Santa under the cloche is very old and chippy, but I love him.

Vintage silver tray with wreath of greenery and pinecones and a glittery Santa riding a polar bear. This arrangement is on our kitchen table.

Tall cloche with a pink sugared reindeer. The vintage look silver ornament with millinery flowers was a gift from sweet Jen of Jennifer's Petal Palace.

Pretty glass teardrop hinged ornament with a sweet teensy bottle brush tree and cottage inside.

This PINK SATURDAY our sweet hostess Beverly of How Sweet the Sound has asked us to share one of our favorite Christmas memories.

This is a picture of me in 3rd grade standing beside the cardboard fireplace that I thought was so wonderful. Notice the adorable felt stocking that my mother made for me. I look so sweet and happy in this picture but all that was about to change.....

At this time I was still a mighty strong "Believer" so my mother and my aunt took me outside on the front porch to listen for Santa's sleigh bells on Christmas Eve. Well, of course they both heard them before I did and I believed them. So I made a mad dash for the front door to run inside and crawl into bed before Santa could catch me still awake.  You know, he sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake....

Little did my mother and aunt know that I would almost have a heart attack and freak out all over the place when I found that the door was LOCKED, and there I stood out front with the stinking reindeer, the jingling sleigh bells, and Santa right above MY rooftop, just waiting to catch me still awake!

Much later they explained to me that this had all been a ruse to get me out of the house so that dear Daddy could sneak in with the jolly fellow's gifts.  Needless to say this was the last Christmas that I waited for Santa to arrive!

Moral of this story:  Do NOT say or do ANYTHING that will cause your child to panic as far as Santa Claus is concerned! LOL

Big Christmas Hugs,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2008

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2008

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my special friends. I suspect we will all be busy today, but just wanted you to know that I have already asked God to bless all of my sweet friends, especially my blogging buddies, as I am so very thankful for each & every one of you.

We will be celebrating the day with our daughter & her family. Her birthday is also today, so along with all the pies there will of course be birthday cake! I'll be sure to make lots of pictures to share, as she is the most beautiful & VERY expectant daughter ever!!!

Just wanted to share a little of my Thanksgiving decor with you! Enjoy!

Blingy acorns in my favorite apothecary jar on one of our antique mirrors used as a plateau mirror

My very favorite Tday piece that I purchased at a sweet couple's booth that I shared a space next to at a craft show we did about 5 years ago

A Gurley Turkey candle

My sweet little Gurley Candle Pilgrim Couple

A fun Gobble Gobble
My sweet Indian Couple

I LOVE white pumpkins

And gold & silver ones, too!

I tried to add my pictures as if you were walking in through our front door & from room to room, but somehow they got all jumbled & I'm too sleepy to rearrange them. Besides, this way you can enlarge them if you see something you want a closer look at, & I've found that if I rearrange them they seem to lose that ability to be enlarged.

A sweet new (to me) blogger named Lisa of Stop and Smell the Chocolates sent me the most wonderful prize for leaving a comment on her terrific blog last month, so I'm posting pictures of all the items she sent me below. Please stop by her blog as it is so fun & uplifting. It is chock full of great pictures, interesting facts, & yummy recipes (see the Nov. 21st post for a great Chocolate Pecans recipe!), and CHOCOLATE!!!! What more could a girl ask for?!?!

Lisa, I simply adore everything you sent, but my very favorite item has to be the wonderful recipe book, as it has come in quite handy this season! And my VERY favorite thing is your super poem!!! I'll treasure it always, my talented new friend!

This pic was just too cute not to share!

May you & your family be blessed with a wonderful & bountiful Thanksgiving. A day of fellowship, terrific food, & sweet memories.

Happy Birthday, Bree ~ I love you so very much!

Thanksgiving Blessings & Hugs to all!

PINK SATURDAY 11/22/08

PINK SATURDAY 11/22/08

Hi friends! It is time for another PINK Saturday post!! Our sweet hostess for this ever-growing event is Beverly of How Sweet the Sound, so please visit her blog here to see all of this week's participants. Our list has rapidly grown to over 100 & you will be amazed at all the pretty pinkness out there!!

I bought these gorgeous PINK Victorian Courting Couple Lamps a while back & intended to use them in our family room, then changed my mind & went with a green & cream color scheme instead so these are for sale now. If you have any interest, just email me at stephkbird@tx.rr.com , as I'd love for them to go to a good new home.

I've been playing around with my pretty pink & silver Christmas balls that my sweet PRH sister & friend Jennifer of Jennifer's Petal Palace made for me a few years back. She has beautiful items for sale here on her selling blog, so please check her out! I adore her roses & leave my balls out year-round!

This is a picture of one of Jen's little trees all decorated for the upcoming holidays in her pretty pink ornaments that she offers. Isn't it adorable? And that ice cream cone ornie is sooo sweet!

More of the start of my Christmas decorating & more of Jen's pretty handpainted balls on my family room mantle. I have a new addiction, much to DH's dismay, of apothecary jars ~ well, practically ANY pretty glass container!!

I am out of town attending a refresher course on childbirth with my daughter today, playing the role of her coach, so I will be a few days late in making my Pink Saturday visits this week. I haven't had time to visit my dear blogging friends much at all this month but do miss you all so much & when I do visit, I promise to read all back posts & get caught up!!

PINK Saturday Hugs to all!
