Gingerbread Men and A Special Gift!

I received an early Christmas gift from a very special friend, Pat of The Urban Chic,
that I wanted to share with you.

Any time you receive a gift wrapped as gorgeously as this one was,
you just KNOW you are going to LOVE it!

Pat made this beautiful card that I will cherish always!
And look, it's even PINK!! MY color!! :0)

The inside of the card is as special as the outside.

Does Pat know me well, or what?!? A beautiful beaded angel AND
an exquisite jeweled Lenox ornament.

This keepsake ornament will be a special reminder of a dear and precious friend, Pat, who I would never have had the pleasure of knowing, had it not been for blogland! I'm forever grateful!

Now in honor of our special friendship (Pat loves gingerbread men), today I'm sharing with you a few of my little gingerbread items in the kitchen.

If you REALLY want to see an amazing collection of sweet gingerbread men, women, and gingerbread houses, you need to hop over to Pat's blog,  The Urban Chic. Her collection is wonderful.

AND she also has a very nice Christmas blog, UrbanChic Christmas, that showcases even more of her 30+ years of collections. Stop by and tell this sweet lady hello from me!

Thank you, Sissie!

Sissie really knows how to do things up right, as you can certainly tell if you have ever visited her beautiful blog!

 ~ Sissie ~

This is the phenomena that is....SISSIE!  She lives in NC and is having the time of her life right now, whether it be decorating her own home or out scavenging for beauties for her booth space. When she isn't busy re-decorating or rubbing decals on pretties, she can be found sewing GORGEOUS and I do mean GORGEOUS items for her esty shoppe, Sissycakes. Burlap, ruffles and roses are passions of hers, and she does them so well. I asked her a bit about herself and she told me that she started sewing when she was a young girl of about 12. Fast forward thru some years of outside work in the business world and raising her son. She started back up again a couple of years ago and credits several others in the blogs as having inspired her to create again.

"I'm not sure why I started doing the ruffles but I think it's because I love everything girlie and pink. I think ruffles kinda say it all."

Sissie is one more fun-loving and talented lady ~ I promise you will love her, too! Please visit her HERE and tell her that Stephanie sent you!

PINK SATURDAY 5-08-2010 CASTLE & COTTAGE SIGNS

Today I'm showcasing one of my favorite new artists and a great new friend, Paula of Castle and Cottage Signs!  I found her blog several months ago and immediately became a follower. Every item she creates is just beautiful.  She recently had a wonderful giveaway for one of her Bella Cottage signs and I was the lucky winner!!!  What better way to celebrate PINK SATURDAY than with the sweet soft pinkness of  her handpainted roses!

The sign I was so lucky to win.....

Even her hang tags are beautiful!

all following photos courtesy Paula @ Castle and Cottage Vintage Signs

Paula also has a lovely website and a flicker page where you can view even more of her terrific works.  Below are just a few of my favorites.....

I am always intrigued by how someone got their start so I asked Paula's permission to share her artwork and a bit about her here in her own words......

Native New Englander
Delawarean transplant
{Parisian by proxy}
self-taught artist,
began in mud pies...
living her dream
in a way too small studio...
one true love, michael
two beautiful cherubs,
michael & hannah
happiest at the beach.
decisively-
comical
shy
persnickety
creatively destructive.
finds great joy in-
dreaming
laughing
getting side tracked
tennis
reading
writing
antiquing
collecting
gardening
and getting lot's of sand between the toes!

Now who wouldn't just love having a best friend like that?!?

Paula told me that she is a self-taught artist who has been perfecting her craft for 20+ years. When her young son was one, she became a stay at home mom, her hobby soon became her vocation and a full-time business blossomed.

I can attest to the beauty and pride this talented artist takes in her artwork. Soft, gentle colors, beyond gorgeous script, and wonderful aged patina give her works a lush, cared for, well-loved charm. She offers signs for all types of decor' and welcomes custom orders, too. Perfect home accents and lovely gifts!

Stop by and visit her and tell her that Stephanie said Hi!

Please visit our gracious hostess Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for more great pinkness today!
