Le Coq

Was visiting my friend Dolly's blog, from my cherry heart, today & she has her adorable pet chicks featured on her post. Just adorable, so take a peek when you get a chance. Got me to thinking that I needed to post a picture of my new rooster lamp in my kitchen, but hers are real & much cuter! If you can use an inanimate one, I have my rooster lamps for sell in my eBay store, AngelicAccents.

I'm keeping the one pictured above in my kitchen nook where I placed it to make the picture. (Hubby just loves it when I buy something to sell, then end up keeping for myself! But, hey, I'm selling the rest.) I love the soft light it gives off, & how it goes with my chicken plates & cups & saucers, speckled eggs in my old crock bowl, my little wooden rooster pull toy, & rooster planter, & hen egg cup. In fact when I stop to think about it, I've got a whole little cackle of hens in my nook, a new collection starting up! Sounds like a hen party is in order to me!!

HGTV's 10 Most Pampered Pets
My precious pets are very pampered at my house. We even have one dog who doesn't even know that she is a d-o-g, but that is another story. Featured here today is my adorable little Jack Russell Terrier, Sissy (well, not really little ~ took her in to the vet to have her toenails trimmed yesterday & she weighed in at 18.5 lbs!) She was the product of a broken home ~ I inherited her when my daughter got divorced. She is 8 yrs. old now & such a love. Have you ever seen the Bissell carpet cleaner commercial where the little JRT is bouncing around non-stop & the home owner says, "My vet says he'll settle down after he turns 7"? Well, we are still waiting.......She is by far the most intelligent dog I've ever had, is fiercely protective of me, & absolutely loves playing ball ALL the TIME!! My dear father built her shabby chic designer bed for her about three Christmases ago. He lost his courageous battle with cancer on March 1st, so I'm especially proud of this little bed. He & Sissy were best buds. I often told him she sleeps in a prettier bed than I do! His creation led me to enter Sissy in HGTV's Most Pampered Pets contest last August 2006 & she won one of the top 10 spots, so she is a celebrity of sorts! And it made my daddy very proud that he was a part of it! Click on the above link to see all the adorable winners.

NKOB.....Antique & Venetian Glass Mirrors
Since I'm the new kid on the block, I thought it might be fun to help everyone get to know me a little better by seeing part of my home, which is very important to me. I collect antique mirrors, & a few of the newer Venetian Glass mirrors, too, so I had the idea to post a few of my favorites here each week for you to see how I use these in my home. Some I feature will be from my personal collection, some will be ones that I list for sale in my eBay store & listings, or on my website, others will be ones that I have already let go on to another loving home. But I promise, ALL will be Spectacular!

This is one of my all time favorites. I kept one of these until DH gave me another for an anniversary present. I'll post that one later. This is one I try to offer fairly often in my eBay store. You just can't beat a heart shaped mirror!!

My friend Heather, at Pretty Petals Boutique, featured her gorgeous bedroom dresser (My Beloved Vanity) back a few weeks ago on her blog, so run over there & give it a look. Mine is similar, in fact, I think I could take just about anything in Heather's sweet home & it would fit in perfectly here, too. I told her I'd post a picture here of my dresser, so here it is.

I've also added some Rachel Ashwell plates above my dresser now. I bought the cute little butter pats framed piece & the 2 others at Target last year. I love all things shabby of hers!

Have a wonderful evening!

Stephanie

Jump on In.....The Water is Fine!

Believe it or not, my friends have finally talked me into this new addiction of blog-land! I may never be the same! DH is shaking his head as I type this. Says it is just another excuse to not list on eBay! He may just be right. I hope to add posts at least 3 times a week, maybe more if I get better & quicker at this. Many many thanks to my dear friends from my PRH group, Dolly & Connie, who gave me the final push to jump on in & get my feet wet. I always trust them & they said I'd be fine, just to come on & DO IT! And you know what? They were right! I am sooo looking forward to sharing my thoughts & my home with you in the coming days. Until next time......

Hugs,
Stephanie
