Flowers & Chandeliers

Flowers & Chandeliers

I saw the prettiest pink tulips at the store yesterday. I'm soooo in the mood for Spring to REALLY be here. Today we had thunderstorms & tornado warnings.

Thought it might cheer me a bit to share some of my pretty florals with you, since there is still nothing pretty in the yard.

A pretty cache' pot

Capidamonte Roses

Tole ware & Porcelain Roses

Sculpted Rose Teapot

Handpainted tiny floral plate

Roses on a White Ceramic Log

I'm thinking that a new chandelier might cheer me! Nothing like a little bling to make my heart sing! I found two gorgeous ones.......a French Rococo style & one from the Galt House in Louisville, KY. Don't think I'll be getting one like these, but they are pretty.

I would stand a better chance just asking for the tulips. Hmm....maybe I should hint to hubby!

Big Hugs,
Stephanie

Happy Easter 2008

Happy Easter 2008Snapped a few more of my bunnies for Amy of Bunny Rose Cottage today! I gave her a crystal glass with a bunny in it just like these above. I believe she loves bunnies even more than I do!!!

My sweet PRH sis, Vickie of Visuals by Vickie sent these adorable little bunnies to my granddaughter last April. I found the pic today & wanted to share it again. Vic was in my neck of the woods today & called me & we had the best time talking!! We plan to meet up soon with a couple other blog friends & I just can't wait to meet in person!

As I was setting the table for Easter lunch, I had to run upstairs for something & as I came back down this is what I saw so I grabbed my camera & made a quick pic.

I sell antique mirrors here at Angelic Accents on eBay (among other things) & just love using them as plateau mirrors on my dining room table. This is my Easter centerpiece this year. And yes, Connie & Rhea, I did have to add some bling to it, too! Couldn't disappoint you now, could I!?!
I love my new bunny plates that I added to our white china for a different look. I placed everyone's take home favors on small crystal ruffled dishes.
And yes, I made the favors myself. Painted & glittered the little bunnies & molds a week ago, but added the grass, handle, bow, & eggs while guests were walking in the front door. Talk about cutting it close!!
The napkin rings were easily made by using decorative bunny button covers attached to sheer pink organza ribbon. Thought Karla of Karla's cottage would like my fairy bunnies!

I've been promising Lori of Pink Faded Roses all week long that I would do a picture of my Easter feather tree, so here it is, sweetie!

Made this little grouping for our kitchen table. I just love cake plates & compotes for adding varying heights for displays.
Lori, NOW do you see why I'm soooo interested in where you got your HUGE chocolate bunny?!?!? I NEED ONE!!!!!! I purchased the little pastel bottle brush trees, but made the two bunny boxes. My first attempt at making little boxes. I love doing it!! But wowser, does that fine glitter go EVERYWHERE!!!!
Finally got everything ready to go. Church, hearing our new minister, visiting with friends, then home to stuff ourselves silly! We had a wonderful day, just our small family. I do hope & pray that each of you had a wonderful Easter, too.

Hugs,
Stephanie

Easter is Almost Here!!!!

Easter is Almost Here!!!!Hi Chicks, as my favorite mother hen, Connie of Living Beautifully, calls all of us!!! It is almost EASTER & I should really be downstairs using this contraption called an oven, stuffing it with yummy things to bake for tomorrow's dinner. Instead I snapped a pic of it for my blog.......

I have a nice little collection of porcelain hinged boxes so I purchased this cute little cottage shelf & hung in it my entry way. I change it out with different themed boxes to go along with each season. My granddaughter recently gifted me with my newest pieces for this ~ the dangle legged bunny, the precious bunnies in a hatbox, & the large white bunny with a pink rose on it! All with her very own allowance money!! Boy, she is a girl after my heart!!!!

BTW, the sweet little girl sitting in the pressed back chair on the top shelf is my dear grandmother, taken back in about 1909. Isn't she precious? And the scared to death child sitting atop the HUGE stuffed growling bear is me, circa 1956, at the State Fair of Texas. Now why on earth did my parents make me sit on top of that ugly thing?!?! I know, I know, another wonderful photo op.......see, I come by it naturally!!!

I'm a member of a group called PRH & we recently had an Easter Swap & below are some pics of what I received from my sweet PRH sister, Shirl of Shirl's Rose Cottage. She spoiled me with Linder Truffles (white chocolate ~ yummmm), a precious bunny tote with beautiful roses, netting & other florals, a gorgeous cross-stitch Easter pillow, a silk ribbon embroidery sachet, a lovely handmade card & tag (her very first!! I'm so honored to have received it!), & gifts for my two "girls", our pets.

Close up of the beautiful tote & her awesome handmade "chick" tag..... Easter Pillow & heavenly lavender scented sachet with SRE.........
Closeup of the intricate details........ Shirl just recently retired from her banking job & is getting ready to offer some awesome items for sale, so check out her blog soon & I'm sure she can help spoil you, too!!!

This is what I sent to Shirl. A Happy Easter card, glittered of course, that said "From one hip chick to another!". A topiary bunny, a framed cross-stitched bunny in a Spring wreath, & a fou-foued pink egg ornament. Oh, mustn't forget the decorated cookie, a little yellow chick popping out of an Easter Egg!

The pink feathers were used in my daughter's wedding decor a few months ago, & the silk roses & ribbon trim & pearls were given to my by my other sweet PRH sis, Rhea of Sweet 'n Shabby Roses. They really helped fou-fou up the bling-y egg in style!!

My girls heard that Shirl even remembered them, so here is Miss Rosie looking for her loot!!
Sissy is a bit more mannerly. She only stands on her hind legs, begging. She would never put a paw on the table!!!
Now Rosie, on the other hand, would crawl right up there if her short little legs would just cooperate. Funny, but when you are blonde & beautiful, you can get away with soooo much more!!

Sissy wearing her cute bandana that Shirl made especially for her.
Rosie feeling oh so pretty in her brand new pink roses hair bow that Shirl made. It even glitters, too!! AND she made one for my "adopted" love, Precious, my mother's little Shih Tzu!! How sweet is that?!?!?!

Shirl, thank you so very very much for spoiling me rotten with such lovely goodies. I love you, dear friend! Have a wonderful Easter with your sweet family!

Now I really really must get down to the kitchen & see how to work that oven!!

Hugs,
Stephanie

More Easter Decor & Thrifting Finds

More EASTER Decor & Thrifting Finds
More EASTER decor today......and yes, Lori, I'm still going to picture my new little Easter feather trees......maybe tomorrow. They aren't as full & pretty as yours, tho! Girls, go check out Lori of Pink Faded Roses Easter Decor ~ WoW!

I made the bunny wreath ~ Amy of Bunny Rose Cottage, this pic is for you, sweetie ~ & hung it on our bedroom door. The Beatrix Potter pieces I have been adding to for the last several years. Also pictured is one of the first vintage cherub lamps I purchased on eBay a few years ago.

The little bisque bunny baby in a basket was given by my parents to my daughter for her 1st Easter. You can see where it says that on the bottom edge of the basket if you click to enlarge the picture. I believe it is made by Lefton, as are most of my vintage Easter china pieces.
Two of my very favorite bunny boxes that I purchased last year. And my vintage (we are talking 45 yrs. here) pink bottle brush tree from when I was a wee tot!
Gotta love these apothecary jars that were purchased at Hobby Lobby! So fun to fill them with different items for the changing seasons.

Now, on to some of my newest/old thrifting finds......little roses change trays, an old china doll, aluminum molds, some pretty candleholders, & a vintage china saucer.

I fell in love with this little PINK bone dish. It features a Victorian Courting Couple & is edged in gold trim. Just perfect for holding paperclips in my office!
I'm naming my little china doll "Miss Bertie" after one of my dear Victorian PRH sisters, Bertie of Aunt May's Cottage! Bertie is a true doll & has the prettiest items you'll find this side of the 1900's!! And she is having an Easter Egg hunt with a prize! So hop on over to her blog! Now, I'm off to visit some of your blogs for more decorating inspiration!
Hugs,
Stephanie
