Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

The above picture of a mother and child has hung on my stairway for almost 10 years now. It is one of my very favorite pictures. I felt it a fitting tribute to this special day for mothers all across the land.

I would like to honor my own dear sweet mother on today's post. She is a Christian, a true Southern Belle, a grand lady in every sense of the word. A beautiful red-head, a loving caring spirit, & my very best friend now & forever.

This is a picture of the little miniature silverplated tea set that I'm giving to her today. She had seen it in a little antique shop that we visit often ~ I hope she will love it! I also gave her a beautiful handpainted tray from Celeste of La Rea Rose, but she got that one early!

I came into the circle of motherhood when my dear daughter was born & I've loved her dearly ever since I laid eyes on her, well actually even way before that! And although she was the only child I ever gave birth to, I also feel that in many ways her daughter, my precious little granddaughter is another "child" of mine. I'm so very proud of both of them & all that they accomplish, & the love they show for each other & to others, too. They are both just as beautiful on the inside where it is really important as they are on the outside.

All three of "my girls" are true GRITS.....Girls Raised In The South....and everything that that implies. Soft yet strong, determined, caring, loving, lady-like, genteel, independent, high-spirited & fun!

My daughter & granddaughter, son-in-law, & grandpuppies sent me this beautiful floral arrangement. It smells wonderful!

Funny, because I often accuse my DH of not listening to me, but I guess he proved me wrong. He came home from shopping the other day & had found me this cute pair of shoes. Now, never in his life has he bought me a pair of shoes before! And not only are they sparkly with sequins & glitter, but they are flats (yeah for my poor stilleto-sore feet) & they FIT!!! Hmmm, sometimes he DOES listen to what I love & what I need!!!

So I intend to just sit back, relax, & enjoy the day today in my cute blingy comfortable shoes!

I hope all my dear friends have a wonderful day today with those you love!
