The above picture is how Jacqueline Kennedy & her French decorator Stephane' Boudin decorated the same room

Which one do you like best?

The Domino website has many more pictures of White House decorating here if you are interested.

And lastly for PINK Saturday, my pink roses from my favorite son-in-law!

I like tham all, but IF I could pick and choose items and wall color from each I think I could make one even prettier!

All three are beautiful but I think I prefer it the way that Laura Bush decorated it. Wonder what they do with it when they are finished with it? Makes one wonder....
Happy Pink Saturday!!!

Angela

Hi, Stephanie! All the Queen's Room are decorated beautifully, but I'd have to say Barbara's stripes get my vote.

Enjoy your day!

How sweet of him to send you pink roses. I like Laura Bush's decor best, with her MIL's coming in 2nd. Didn't like J.K.O.'s at all!

This is my first visit to your website. I just came to see the 1st Ladies/Queen's Room. Thank you so much for setting up this wonderful resource! There was quite a difference between all three pictures, even though the bed, chandelier & color scheme stayed intact. Very interesting:). I noticed the grandeur of Barbara Bush's Queen's Room and the slightly more contemporary feel that Laura had.

I know I am biased, but I just loved Jackie's Queen's room! The quilt, drapes were so pretty. I also love monochromatic contrasts.

Much has been made of Mamie Eisenhower's love of pink. Her taste was put down, by some. They say she really went over the top with pink. Others did not like her "Hilton Hotel Decor". Yet, when we consider that Mamie was a military wife who had to constantly repack and redecorate; a lady who stayed on the move in a military environment -- we have to give her some room. Also, Hilton Hotels were considered the epitome of taste & glamor by many Americans who were not "into interior design". I also love the color Pink and wish we had more examples of Mami's input into White House. We really do not know too much about the Eisenhower White House.

I look forward to visiting the rest of your site/blog again, thanks for your wonderful website. It is a treasure.

Hello, Stephanie! ♥

Oh my, it's hard to choose a favorite room! It's the same bed in each pic- isn't it? I'm not real fond of dark wood- even on a bed so I'll choose Jackie's look. But of course, I loves your pink roses! And from a son in law at that.

☺ ♥

I'm not a big fan of pink sheets, but if given the chance to sleep in that room, I think I like Laura Bush's design. It can span different time periods... Just lovely! Thanks for sharing!

I love them all...OMG! Thank you for sharing! I love JO's because it is vintage looking. But, if I was doing it today it would be Laura Bush all the way! Fresh and clean.

Interesting, the different styles!

The Laura Bush version of the room looks more comfortable, like you could really relax in it - the others, while pretty, look more formal.

Good Pink post!

Hi Stephanie,

What beautiful "pink roses". All of the bedrooms are very pretty but I like Laura's the best.

Happy Pink Day,

I like the Laura Bush version! Thanks for stopping by to see my furniture remix. Nice to meet you Stephanie. I'm also a lamp-a-holic! Lamps provide charm and ambiance that an overhead lights just can't provide! I would love to see your lamp that lights from the top and bottom!

I think my favorite is the Barbara Bush era. I don't really care for the Kennedy look.

And, I love your pink roses. Happy Pink Saturday, Stephanie.

Hello Steph, Happy Pink Saturday. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment, and yes you can use the pink hearts pic or any of my pics for that matter! I was so happy to read that Keaton is doing a little better. So sad to see the little ones' sick.
Now on to your beautiful pink this week. I love all three rooms here but if I had to choose just one it would be Laura Bush's room. I'm going to check out that site on the White House. I'm so interested in the important things going on in there. The decorating of course! LOL. Somehow I missed the Christmas decorating in the White House this year. So sad about that!
Love you! Shirl

HAPPY LATE PINK SATURDAY STEPHANIE
WHAT A LOVELY POST. I ENJOYED IT VERY MUCH.
OUT OF THE THREE I WOULD PICK THE FIRST PICTURE.
I LIKE THREE BUT THEY TOOK AWAY THE BENCH AT THE FOOT OF THE BED AND EACH ROOM SHOULD HAVE A BENCH AT THE FOOT OF THE BED.

I had some annoying virus on my computer called "internet security 2010" it would give me annoying pop ups adn try to make me buy it also kept played radio clip from different stations(it was so weird one second it was classical the next it was Taylor Swift" and it kept me from googling stuff because when I clicked on the links iit would take me to a site like mickeymousecruises.com. Now I believe I've fixed all that except my search engines still do not work. How do I fix it?
