Vintage Wedding Cabinet Cards

In preparation for my annual WEDDING BLOG PARTY
I wanted to share some of my vintage wedding cabinet cards today.

Most everyone used to wear very dark colors except for the bride and her attendants.

Love all the different styles thru the years!

This scene looks as if it could have been a funeral instead of a wedding!

And the following picture is one of the very few I've seen where the couple were actually smiling!

The cards are wonderful! It is funny how no one ever smiles in the old shots, but I found out once that in the old photography they had to sit very still while they got the exposure for some shots. I think it was easier to hold a non-smiling expression than a smile. Not sure if this is why or not, but I always think of that. That last shot, the guy's mustache was a little scary. :) Very cool images! Found you at Stuff & Nonsense.

I started to leave a bad comment about smiling on your wedding day but slapped Ms. Pearl's hand to control herself. lol
That last photo of the couple smiling if you look at that woman she looks like she is so proud she snatched this guy. haha. Whats wrong with me this morning I must need some caffeine.
Seriously honey I love the pic's you collect. It's fun looking at old photo's.
I came by the other day to enter your giveaway and blogger would not let me leave my comment so I will try again.
Can't wait for your wedding party. I should put it on my sidebar

Beautiful oldies. My favorite was the 5th picture set. It is so fashionable!
It is interesting, in U.S people can wear black in weddings. From where I came from, black is a big no. Mothers of the bride is fine to wear white too. Probably has something to do with superstitions.

It's Passion  Parade Friday again. Would love if you join in :)

You have a wonderful collection of old wedding photos! My Mom has alot of old family wedding photos. I always feel as though the people in the pictures look so unhappy. lol

Last year, our local art museum had an exhibit called, Wedded Perfection. It was truly amazing!
