Cherubs & Sophisticated Sirens?!?
What a pair!!! Wanted to show you two of my favorite lamps in my home. Remember, I'm a lamp-a-holic! The first is my cherub lamp. Hubby bought it for me as a surprise, brought it home covered with grime ~ once I cleaned it up, he was the one that was surprised. I gave him a big old hug for this one! We call it our "salad bowl" lamp because we have a salad bowl almost exactly like the top, minus the beaded drops of course! It sits atop a kidney shaped chocolate server in our entry hall & casts the softest most beautiful light.
Next is my Art Deco Sophisticated Siren "Va Va Voom" Lady. Hubby also bought this one, with the thoughts that I would sell it. WRONG!! She is just tooo irresistable, wearing her original pink taffeta & lace dress, black elbow length gloves & pouty facial expression. We had her re-wired as she came to us from England. Her dress lights up with a soft glow from beneath her hooped skirt. Wish I knew more about her & her maker. If anyone sees her & can tell me anything about her, please leave me a comment!
Hugs,
Stephanie

Ooooh Stephanie, the cherub lamp is sooo gorgeous and your va-va-voom lady, how wonderful is she. We have lots in common, apart from being baby-boomers, I'm a lamp-a-holic too.
Thank you for your good wishes for my darlin' Sam, he came home today and is doing great. Mum is too, but verrrry tired.
Hugz, Col :-}
I don't know anything about your siren lady, except that she is BEAUTIFUL. Your DH sure has good taste in lamps and seems to know exactly what you like. How lucky are you? Thanks for sharing!
What a nice husband, and with good taste. Well of course he has good taste, he picked you! Love both of the lamps, but the lady lamp is so unique. Oh, I would love one like that. Lucky you!

I have a number 8 to add to my weird list: each day I check your blog and even if you don't post, your adorable little girl pic of yourself never ceases to makes me smile!!! Lori
Oops forgot to tell you the rose buds are pinned on! You might have her use a dot of hot glue on the back of each! Lori

I am addicted to lamps too. Love the girlie one with the glow-skirt!
Wowee! Gorgeous! I REALLY love the lady. She is so unique. Your husband must of had a mental lapse to think you'd sell this beauty! You need Antiques Road Show to come through your city. BTW, your husband has style ;)
