Tablescape Tuesday 9/09/08

Tablescape Tuesday 9/09/08
My sweet new blogging friend Susan of Between Naps on the Porch is hosting Tablescape Tuesday for us, so hop on over to her blog to see more participants. Each week more participants are joining & it is so inspiring to see all the beautiful tablescapes!

Flow Blue is a new passion of mine. My favorite little footed Flow Blue compote ~ Sylvan by Cauldon.

The red of my dining room walls is the perfect backdrop for blue & white settings.

Spode Blue Room Collection ~Traditions Series

Flow Blue Covered Vegetable Bowl
These older pieces of vintage china really make me wonder who loved & cared for them before. Who used these to set a beautiful & gracious table in the 1800's? What did they wear to their candlelight dinners? What type of conversations have these pieces overheard? I think I was born into the wrong era!!

Hugs,

I can see you have an imagination that could rival mine. One of my favorite HGTV shows is "If Walls Could Talk". I personally don't have a problem with extending that premise to old dishes as well. Just think who might have dined at the table where these dishes were used. That leads my mind down some interesting roads. Thoroughly enjoyed your post.
