Venetian Glass Tri-Fold Vanity Mirror

Venetian Glass Tri-Fold Vanity Mirror

** Remember my 1 yr. Blogiversary is coming up Thursday ( TOMORROW! ). Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to win a few surprise goodies from me. Winner will be announced late Thursday evening!**
I have absolutely fallen in love with Venetian Glass Mirrors! The above picture is one that I currently have on auction here right now in my store, ANGELIC ACCENTS on eBay.

I was thumbing through the February 2008 issue of HARPER'S BAZAAR (the one with Jennifer Lopez on the cover) & on page 220, I found the following pics of a tri-fold almost exactly like mine.

Wouldn't you just love to have this dressing room to get ready in?!?! I believe I could face anything the day had to throw at me if I started the morning out in this decadent room. Very reminiscent of the 1930's & 40's ART DECO styling with all the gorgeous mirrored furniture pieces!

Maybe I'm just living in the wrong era. . . .

Snapped these pics the other day while I was visiting my mother. She has become as big a fan of my dear friend, Celeste of La Rea Rose, as I am. Celeste painted the above pink oval tray & adorable little pink egg for her.

This antique marble-topped washstand is one of my favorite pieces of Mom's. It sits in her entry hall. My daddy made the beautiful cherub lamp from vintage parts, and then painted the mirrored plateau it sits on.

Another of Celeste's beautiful trays on the sideboard. Note the precious cherub holding the glass coasters. Hmmm, that might just be small enough for me to slide into a pocket. Think Mother would notice me wearing a heavy overcoat into the house in steamy April???

Tomorrow is my 1 yr. anniversary, so I'll post again tomorrow evening very late when I draw the winner of my surprise giveaway!

Hugs,

More Easter Decor & Thrifting Finds

More EASTER Decor & Thrifting Finds
More EASTER decor today......and yes, Lori, I'm still going to picture my new little Easter feather trees......maybe tomorrow. They aren't as full & pretty as yours, tho! Girls, go check out Lori of Pink Faded Roses Easter Decor ~ WoW!

I made the bunny wreath ~ Amy of Bunny Rose Cottage, this pic is for you, sweetie ~ & hung it on our bedroom door. The Beatrix Potter pieces I have been adding to for the last several years. Also pictured is one of the first vintage cherub lamps I purchased on eBay a few years ago.

The little bisque bunny baby in a basket was given by my parents to my daughter for her 1st Easter. You can see where it says that on the bottom edge of the basket if you click to enlarge the picture. I believe it is made by Lefton, as are most of my vintage Easter china pieces.
Two of my very favorite bunny boxes that I purchased last year. And my vintage (we are talking 45 yrs. here) pink bottle brush tree from when I was a wee tot!
Gotta love these apothecary jars that were purchased at Hobby Lobby! So fun to fill them with different items for the changing seasons.

Now, on to some of my newest/old thrifting finds......little roses change trays, an old china doll, aluminum molds, some pretty candleholders, & a vintage china saucer.

I fell in love with this little PINK bone dish. It features a Victorian Courting Couple & is edged in gold trim. Just perfect for holding paperclips in my office!
I'm naming my little china doll "Miss Bertie" after one of my dear Victorian PRH sisters, Bertie of Aunt May's Cottage! Bertie is a true doll & has the prettiest items you'll find this side of the 1900's!! And she is having an Easter Egg hunt with a prize! So hop on over to her blog! Now, I'm off to visit some of your blogs for more decorating inspiration!
Hugs,
Stephanie

Not Spring Yet & Favorite Things

Not Spring Yet & Favorite Things
Well, in our neck of the woods, more rain & **SNOW Showers** are expected within the next 24 hrs!!! SNOW??? I was just wearing a t-shirt today & was warm! And just what ARE snow SHOWERS? I've not heard that term before. Should be 28 degrees here Tuesday. We will have more than snow if it gets that cold! So I thought Bunny with Umbrella highly appropriate for this post!

Celeste of La Rea Rose, get Ms. Beazy ready for storms to roll through in the next couple of hours! We are under a tornado warning as I type.

I found the cutest & easiest craft to make with my granddaughter. See pic above. You take a tin vegetable can, paint it white, glue on cotton balls, add wiggle eyes, & black felt ears & feet, black pom pom nose, ribbon bow, & voila! You have an adorable pencil/brush holder! Fun for even very young kids!

One of my very favorite vintage floor lamp chandeliers ~ I actually made this one ~ this post is for you Vicki from All Bliss Be Thine!
This is my very favorite rocker with a pressed back. I shabbied it up & loaded it with some of my fav pillows. The lamp is for Bertie of Aunt May's Cottage (Ms. Victoriana herself!), the silk ribbon embroidery pillows are posted for Katie of Rose Breeze Boutique & Shirl. And nope, I didn't make them, but the above two ladies know how to do this very intricate & beautiful work!!

Have to end this post for sweet Lori of Pink Faded Roses ~ a frilly cherub lamp that I "re-designed" & some of my little perfume bottles & a pin money bank!

Hugs til next time!
Stephanie
