More Wedding Memorabilia & a Saucy THANKS!

As a special thanks to Saucy for hosting our virtual wedding party today, I clicked a few extra pictures of some of my cake toppers, bride dolls, & other vintage wedding memorabilia.
The topper with the pink ribbons on it was purchased at a garage sale from a gal who was waaaay too happy to be rid of it. Got it for $2.00!

The heart shaped topper is my most recent find. Isn't it pretty? Our wedding topper is on the back right ~ wow, it's starting to YELLOW!!!
My dear sweet friend & PRH Sister Vickie of Visuals by Vickie surprised me with this darling diorama egg last year. I've never seen one before that has a wedding scene in it. It is my very favorite ~ just click to see all the pearls & trim & work that went into this precious piece!
Bought this cute mannequin couple at Hobby Lobby & used it at my daughter's bridesmaid luncheon.
I've shown some of my Gone With the Wind wedding memorabilia before ~ Scarlett was married three times!!
The garter was a recent antique shop purchase. It isn't very old, but I loved it, so it came home with me.
This wedding bell cake topper came home with me the same day. I don't really collect these, but it was just so pretty & creamy ivory aged to perfection!

This was my bride doll when I was a little girl. She has the same body form & face as my Candy Fashion doll. Only difference is this one isn't a blonde, but a brunette, just like me. Oh, how I LOVED playing with her! It's a small wonder that I didn't become a wedding planner!! She winds up & can actually walk down the aisle, but her bouquet has long since disappeared & her "tossing arm" has broken. Never mind the stains on her gown!
My sweet PRH Sister Bertie of Aunt May's Cottage gifted me with this pretty bridal fan. If you are lucky she just might have one still left in her store here.....check out all her beautiful adornments while you are there!! The cabinet pic of the wedding couple are some of my "instant" ancestors.
Dear sweet & energetic & talented Karla of Karla's Cottage surprised me with this tiny little June bride right before my daughter's wedding back in November.
Karla also made this one of a kind wedding gown paper doll dress for me. This is just stunning ~ I love the millinery flowers, teensy bit of bling, & pearls on it!

Recently bought this wedding card, more "instant" ancestors, & an old wedding napkin dated 1944!
Does anyone know why the vintage wedding photographs always show such somber couples? I mean, they are ALWAYS somber!!!!
I had this little sugared wedding couple made in the likeness of my daughter & new son-in-law for their wedding.
Last pic is of two of our very special friends who just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April. Now, THEY look happy!!
Big Wedding Hugs,

Hi Steph, I love all your wedding toppers, you have a lovely collection! I especially like the vintage wedding card and napkin. That is something I would have bought. I once saw someones wedding album scrapbook from the 40's, did not buy it, I kept thinking about it and when I went back it was gone. I was so mad. I think it's sad that no one in the family kept it.
Beautiful post Steph!
Love You, Shirl

Hi Steph, What wonderful treaures you have in wedding memorabilia. I love all the toppers and wedding couples. The wedding scene egg is just gorgeous. How terrific that you still have your bride doll from childhood. She is so sweet.

Stephanie, What a lovely collection of wedding items. You have the most fabulous collections and I never tire of seeing them. The only thing that would be even better is seeing everything up close and personal.

Hugs Karen
